The latest data show that nucleic acids from this source can be detected in the sediment and the supernatant of sewage water samples.
The innuPREP Sewage Water DNA/RNA kit contains three protocols. The first protocol isolates nucleic acids from sewage sediment, the second from the corresponding supernatant, and the third allows the simultaneous isolation of nucleic acids from sewage sediment and the corresponding supernatant. The kit combines a unique patented technology for enriching biomolecules with a very efficient extraction of DNA and RNA using magnetic particles.
Extraction process Sewage Water DNA/RNA kit
The extraction process, starting with 20 ml of sewage water sample, efficiently isolates DNA and RNA from the resulting supernatant and sediment (approximately 100 – 200 mg).Depending on the respective protocol the supernatant and the sediment alone or both combined could be used for isolating nucleic acids.
